Pets Live On

Sandi's Memories
I have been blest thru the past 34 years with some wonderful "children" -- the kind with 4 legs.
First was little Snoball, our teacup toy apricot poodle, so tiny she was! We only had her for a little over a year. A ten year old niece picked her up and dropped her. My heart was crushed.
A year or so later, we got another little toy apricot poodle - -Little Miss Tanyika/ Tanya for short! What a fun one she was! When she was about 1 1/2, we took her to a good vet to be spayed. The call from him a few hours later?? Totally unprepared we were for that!
It took me a couple of years to again be courageous enough to "open up to another pet". Then we got a spunky little 1/2 terrier 1/2 poodle! TIKI! He was all male!! And such a character. He bonded with my husband as well, so it was fun to watch the 2 of them be "the MEN of the house!" Some horrid person had fun that year! Tossing poisonous meat into peoples backyards. Tiki AND my parents dog, Carmel, both died the vicious death of poisoning. !!! NEVER again was I going to have a dog!
Then, a little stray dog, so abused in her life, KALI, came into our lives, part poodle/ part pekinese. She had been so horribly treated, we loved spoiling her, and had that privilege for many years! Then, because of real bad health? We had to take her to the vet. Her loss was such a void in my heart!
So, about 8 months later, we got another little apricot poodle.
Karmel is his name! Have had him for 13 years.
While losing each of these just tore holes in my heart? I am so thankful for the space they filled while with us, and I hope in some way, we showed them the love and graditude they so richly deserved!! OUR lives were enriched because of them.
Thank you for letting me share these special loved ones in my life!
Snoball, Tanya, Tiki, Kali and little Karmel now.
